Split Cage Linking System

EDT were engaged to review the available systems for joining sections of fabric filter support cages and to design a new system that would offer better utility to the filter end user.

Traditional systems are variously complex, expensive or difficult to use. EDT conceived a novel system based on a universal clip manufactured in a high performance engineering polymer. The clip is designed to suit all cage sizes.

Extensive laboratory tests were carried out including tensile strength, bend strength of the completed cage joint and long term heat soak tests. Test clips have also been installed at 3 commercial filter sites including a non ferrous smelting plant, an MSW incinerator and a coal fired boiler.

Results confirm the suitability of the design and material. The ZETA clip is now in commercial production.
