Drier Cyclone Assessment and Re-Design

• Client: A major UK foodstuff manufacturer

In order to keep up with changing emissions legislation and process requirements, an installed cyclone set at one of the client’s factories was studied to assess the potential for performance improvements.

EDT computer modelled the existing cyclone design and the process stream feeding it, assessed the performance, and then modelled modifications to the cyclone geometry to assess the impact this would have on collection efficiency, pressure loss and solids flow within the performance constraints of the process and emissions legislation. A significant improvement in collection was realised.
